In Chinese metaphysics a name is more than what you are called — every character carries elemental weight. We read the birth chart first, see which element runs strong and which runs short, then choose characters that supply what is missing, checking stroke count and sound as we go. A name for a new-born, or a new name for an adult at a turning point — in Chinese and in English.

Names rarely land the first time — preferences surface once you see them written down. If none of the first four fit, tell us what is off and we build a second set. Both rounds are included. Beyond that we can carry on, but we will agree the time first.

Name Design
For a new-born, or an adult changing their name. The chart is read first, then four names are built against it — two Chinese, two English — with the reasoning for each, and a second set if the first four do not land. This is the full service.
Name Check
You already have a name and want to know whether it works with your chart. We assess it and give you a straight answer either way, including when the answer is that it is fine as it stands. If a change turns out to be worth making, what you paid for the check comes off the design fee.
Fees depend on which of the two you need and are quoted before any work begins. The first conversation — to work out which one applies to you — costs nothing.
How it works
The chart comes first
No name can be chosen before the chart is read. Everything below follows from it.
The chart is read
Birth date, time and place. For a baby not yet born, the due date and a confirmed scan. Until this is done there is nothing to design against.
What the chart is short of
Which element is thin, which is heavy, and what a name would need to do to bring the balance back.
The names are built
Chinese characters chosen on element and stroke count. English names chosen to sit alongside them and to work in daily professional use.
You see the reasoning
Each name with what it is doing. Then you say what you like and what you do not — this is the part that matters most, and the part people are usually surprised by.
The final list
The names in writing, with the reasoning kept, so it still makes sense to you in a year when someone asks why you chose it.

When to come to us
The baby is already born
In Peninsular Malaysia a birth must be registered within 60 days; past that it counts as late registration and a fine applies. Tell us the date of birth in your first message and we will say honestly whether the time left is enough.
The baby is on the way
Better. A due date and a confirmed scan is enough to begin, and it takes the registration deadline out of the picture entirely.
An adult changing a name
No deadline to work against. Three to six weeks’ notice is normal.
You need it faster
Sometimes possible, and it may cost more. If it is not possible we will tell you, rather than rush work that a person carries for life.
Why it matters
What a considered name changes
Stated plainly: a name is one factor among several. It does not replace the decisions you make.
For a new-born
A name is carried for a lifetime. It is worth choosing against the child’s own chart rather than from a list of currently popular characters.
For an adult
A name change usually marks a real turn — a career move, a new company, a fresh start after something difficult. Choosing it against the chart makes it a deliberate act rather than a cosmetic one.
Working in two languages
Most people in Malaysia are read by both names. A pair chosen together avoids the common outcome: a carefully chosen Chinese name sitting beside an English one picked at random.
Something you can explain
Every character has a reason behind it and you will know what it is. That matters the first time an elder in the family asks why.

Birth details
Exact date, time and place of birth. For a baby on the way, the due date and the gender if a scan has confirmed it.
The names already in the family
The Chinese names of siblings, parents and grandparents, as far as you know them. Repeating a character an elder already carries is a long-standing taboo, and we cannot steer around it without the list.
Which service
A name to be designed, or an existing name to be checked. If you are not sure, say so — that is what the first conversation is for.
Preferences
Characters that run in the family, sounds you like or cannot stand, the surname to work around, and which dialect pronunciation matters to you.
Anything we should know
For an adult, what the change is for. For a child, what the family hopes the name carries.

Before you write to us
How many names do I get?
Four in the first round — two Chinese and two English — each with the reasoning behind it. If none of them fit, a second round is included: a fresh set built from what you tell us.
What if I do not like any of them?
Then they are the wrong names. Tell us what is off — the sound, a particular character, how it looks written down — and we build a second set from that. Two rounds are included, and most people settle in the second. If you want to go further than that we can, but we will agree the time first.
Do you need my family members’ names?
Yes — the Chinese names of siblings, parents and grandparents, as far as you know them. Repeating a character an elder already carries is a long-standing taboo in Chinese naming, and it cannot be avoided without the list.
Do I get anything in writing?
Yes. The final names and the reasoning for each, so you can come back to it later or explain the choice to family.
My baby is already born. Is it too late?
Probably not, but tell us the date of birth straight away. Peninsular Malaysia allows 60 days to register a birth before it becomes late registration and a fine applies. We will tell you honestly whether the time left is enough to do the work properly.
Can you do this if I am not in Malaysia?
Yes. Reading a chart does not require you to be in the room. Sessions run by video or phone, and we work with clients outside Malaysia regularly.
Can you check a name I already have?
Yes — that is the Name Check service. You get a straight assessment of the name against your chart. If it shows a change is worth making, what you paid for the check comes off the design fee.
Do you name companies and brands as well?
That is a separate service — Auspicious Brand Identity Consultation — because a business name has to clear trademark and domain checks on top of everything here.
